Product Description

Items exposed to high temperatures require specialised coatings to protect against rust, corrosion, and surface degradation. New Coat High Temp Paint is a premium, self-priming, silicone-based formula designed to deliver long-lasting protection and a durable low-sheen finish in extreme heat conditions.

Engineered to withstand continuous temperatures up to 350°C and up to 500°C for short periods, it is ideal for a range of high-heat applications. The advanced formulation allows for direct application onto cast iron, steel, and stainless steel, eliminating the need for a separate primer and simplifying the coating process.

New Coat High Temp Paint not only protects surfaces from heat-related damage but also helps maintain appearance and extend the life of equipment exposed to demanding conditions.

How to Use

PREPARATION: Clean surface thoroughly. Remove all traces of grease, oil, dirt and rust. Sand previously painted surfaces lightly. Wipe with mineral turps and allow to dry.

APPLICATION: Choose a dry, well ventilated area. Stir thoroughly. Apply in thin coats. Two coats are usually sufficient. Lightly sand between coats. Do not paint below 5°C or in high humidity.

DRY TIME: Touch dry in 1-2 hours. Handle in 4-6 hours. Recoat after 16 hours. Longer drying time needed in cold or damp/humid weather. Allow 24hrs between drying and curing.

CURING: It is important that the heating unit be fully cured to achieve ‘a hard, dry state’, as below:

  • Ensure good ventilation by opening all windows and doors.
  • Light a small fire inside the unit using paper and kindling wood only and maintain the fire’s intensity for at least 1 hour. Some fumes and smoke may be emitted during this time. Avoid breathing fumes and smoke.
  • Gradually build the fire’s intensity over a further 1 hour period in order to complete the post curing of the paint. Very little fumes or smoke should be emitted during this time.
  • When this process has been completed, the unit may be used in the normal manner.

CLEAN UP: Clean brushes and equipment with mineral turps after use.

Note: Paint may be thinned with up to 10% mineral turpentine for brushing or up to 25% for spraying.

Contains: >20%  MINERAL TURPENTINE.

PROTECT OUR ENVIRONMENT: Do not pour leftover paint down the drain.

SAFETY: Keep out of the reach of children. Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well ventialted place. Keep away from sources of ignition. Do not breathe fumes/vapour or spray. Use only in well ventilated areas. Keep windows and doors open during use and whilst drying. If coating large areas, wear an organic vapour respirator. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. DO NOT SMOKE.

FIRST AID: For advice, contact a Poisons Information Centre (e.g. phone Australia 13 11 26; New Zealand 0800 764 766) or a doctor (at once). If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. If in eyes, hold eyelids apart and flush the eye continuously with running water. Continue flushing until advised to stop by a Poisons Information Centre or a doctor, or for at least 15 minutes. If skin or hair contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and flush skin and hair with running water.
