Product Description

Over time, soot, tar, and creosote can accumulate inside chimneys and flues, restricting airflow and creating serious safety risks. Left untreated, this build-up can ignite and cause chimney fires, while also increasing smoke and harmful fumes within the home.

FireWise® Soot-Loose Chimney & Flue Cleaner offers a simple, effective way to maintain a cleaner, safer system. This non-corrosive, non-hazardous formula works by breaking down and loosening stubborn deposits, allowing them to be safely expelled through regular use.

Regular use helps improve heating efficiency, reduce smoke emissions, and support cleaner-burning fires, while significantly lowering the risk of dangerous build-up.

Usage Tip: For heavily built-up chimneys, use 2–3 sachets for the initial clean. For ongoing maintenance, use 1 sachet monthly during the heating season.

How to Use

  1. Make a good hot fire and allow it to die down to hot coals.
  2. Adjust unit, if possible, so airflow is travelling up the flue slowly.
  3. Place sealed sachet of Soot-Loose on the hot coals (packet will burn during process). If using a tin: Place 2 heaped tablespoons on the hot coals.
  4. After approx 15-20 minutes, the process is complete.
  5. Remove and loose soot from above the baffle plate before restarting the fire.
  6. CAUTION - In the case of an open fireplace: Place a guard in front of the fireplace to protect any persons, floor coverings or furniture, as hot soot may fall from the chimney/flue back into and around the hearth.
  7. If the chimney/flue is heavily sooted, use 2 sachets of Soot-Loose in a single application.
  8. While heating unit is on constant use, apply Soot-Loose monthly.

A yearly inspection of your chimney/flue by a professional is recommended.

How to clean your pizza oven

  1. Make sure the pizza oven and coals are hot.
  2. Place a large baking tray under the flue/chimney (to catch anything that may fall back down) most of the build up will be dissolved and go out the chimney.
  3. Throw the sachet onto the hot coals.
  4. Allow the products to dissolve up the chimney for 30mins.
  5. If you are able to remove the empty packets from the coals, remove it and restart the fire and allow to burn for 20mins.
  6. Once the coals are cool remove baking tray, all coals, wood and discard
  7. Your chimney should be nice and clean.
  8. Regular cleaning is recommended to prevent large build ups.
